My advice, do not be fooled by the title of this movie. I am sure everyone will think of romance and togetherness with his partner when reading the word 'valentine'. Thoughts everyone will be focused on a general opinion, in which Valentine is a symbol of affection, symbol of love, and a symbol of happiness. This is the positive side of the provocative title of this movie; evoke the memory of people to always think about love.
Starting from the harmonious relations Dean (Ryan Gosling) and his wife Cindy (Michelle Williams). They had a son named Frankie (Faith Wladyka). The children shown are more familiar with his father, rather than to her mother. But then the audience asked to flash back on the early relationship between Dean and Cindy.
